The 'Upload units' functionality is accessible from the menu and allows you to do bulk updates to units of study in FLEX. You can either:
- bulk update student numbers only or
- bulk update your units of study and all related information, including adding units of study.
This functionality will save you time if you have a lot of units to upload or amend in FLEX. Please refer to the relevant scenario below for instructions.
I don't have any units in FLEX yet and want to upload a few units.
1. From the menu click on 'Upload units'
2. You will land on this page:
3. Click on the 'blank .csv template' link.
4. In the pop-up window select 'Unit update' and click on 'Generate CSV'. A .csv file will be downloaded.
5. Open the .csv file. It's a template with the required information to upload all your units in FLEX. Please follow the instructions of line 2 to see what fields are mandatory.
6. Once you have entered all your units information in that file, make sure to delete the instructions on line 2 and to save your file as .csv on your computer.
7. Then click on 'Bulk update'. In the popup, browse for your file, select 'Unit update' and click on the 'Bulk update' button.
8. Your upload will appear as the top line of the 'Previous updates' table.
Would there be any issue with the data you tried to upload it will indicate the errors in the 'Summary' column with [x] failures and you would be able to download the 'Failure report' that will tell you what caused the error. This 'Failure report' would appear in shape of a 'View' button to click on in that dedicated column.
